Zardari’s success in president election 2008 is not unknown, it was obvious that Zardari will win with clear majority. Was this only problem for Peoples Party? Won’t Zardari face any other problem? Would all the problems which the country is facing now disappear after these elections by themselves? I don’t think anything like this will happen, real problems will appear now. Even though Zardari doesn’t have majority in Balochistan and NWFP, he has still gotten majority votes from these provinces, and it’s not because they love Zardari, it’s because of many assurances that operations will be stopped in those tribal areas and problem will be solved by negotiations. This is easier said than done.
Zardari would have to face many problems now, and he don’t have any lame excuse for not giving any relief. And if he really listen to nation’s voice and stop operations in tribal areas then he would not only displease America but also lose all the aid he is getting in the name of that operation, and you know Pakistan’s economic condition. On other hand if he comes under America’s pressure and doesn’t stop the operation in tribal areas then he would have to face all the powers to whom he has given assurances in return of votes. Now we have to see which way Zardari chooses. Pakistan is currently surrounded by disasters, may that be Judges issue or inflation, everyones eyes are fixed on Zardari to see which policy he chooses.
Truth is, people are very frustrated now, and they can’t face any more disasters. Now all political gurus should stop pulling each others leg and try to help each other’s mandate to strengthen the political state. This will not only prove beneficial for all political parties. This is the best time for all political parties to prove their matureness and regain people’s trust. If their fight over seat invited any dictator into ruling again, then people may not be able to forgive them again…
